I beleave that elephants are sacred animals. I have a collection of them. I beleave that the trunk should be up for good luck. This is what my mom told me when I was 11 years old. I did not learn how special they was until I was about 21.

I really didn’t start to think about them untill I met my mom’s boss Mrs. motley. Mrs. Motley owns the club “The Lounge” in East Orange N.J. on Central Avenue. It was when I was at my mom’s job one night that Mrs. Motley and I had a conversation about them. She has a collection of about 23, she said. She told me that there are different kinds of elephants, such as Asian and African.

The African elephant is usaully 11 feet high at the shoulder and the Asian 7 to 9 feet. The African elephant is the largest land animal and has large ears. This mammal has less hair than the Asian and is massive in size. Their ears are also lager than the Asian’s. The Asian elephant resembles the extinct WOOLY MAMMOTH. They both have coarce outer hair.

There has been remains of the Wooly Mammoth found in Alaska and Siberia. The height of these mammals was ranging around 9 feet high at the shoulder. These giants use to be plentiful, but now extinct.
Another mammal, who was like part of this family was the MASTODON. But, that is another story!
