On Tuesday, July Seventh 2009, my daughter and I watched Michael Jackson Memoriam on WCBS at 1pm in the afternoon. My daughter was crying and the tears was just rolling down my face. I could not stop them because, the memorial service was so beautiful and touching.
1.6 million fans had registered online to get tickets to the Staples Center In L.A. were Michael's Memorial service was held. There were only 17.500 tickets available to the public. 11,000 was for the Staples Center and 6.500 was for the Nokia building across the street to purchase. There are some lovely videos on MSN Video and Film.com. On Rhapsody Blog you can here some of Michael's songs.
I thought it was wonderful that everyone came together for this sad but wonderful event. This was being watched around the World. They had giant movie screens set up in various places around the glob.
Mariah Carey had apologized for not singing better than she would have liked. You can see it here: http://wonderwall.msn.com/movies/Mariah-Carey-Apologizes-for-Jackson-Memorial-Performance-1517890.story?GT1=28135

My husband came in from work and said, "why are you and her crying" and I said, "we had just finished watching Michael Jackson's memorial on TV." He said "that's no reason to cry" and I said, "yes it is, because he was the King Of Pop and was like family!" He then left out of the living room and went to the kitchen.
We will all miss you Michael, but you will live on in our hearts threw your music.
